Weekly Updates

Grifton School Updates and Reminders for the week of February 9th, 2026:

Greetings Bulldog Families!

We hope that everyone enjoyed their snow days and we are anxious to see everyone back on Monday, February 9th.

Just a reminder with the inclement weather days the last few day, and based on our remote learning plan submitted to the state, student attendance will be based on whether students return their remote work learning packets/assignments. Students are to be given 5 school days after PCS returns to in-person learning to submit the work.

The 100th day of school celebration will be on Tuesday. Students can dress like they are 100 years old.

Students in grades k-1 will have a visit from the dental business on Monday, February 9th.

Spirit Rock is up and running. The spirit rock  is a fun way to celebrate birthdays, accomplishments, events, and show your school spirit. Your design will stay up for 1 week. If you are interested in painting the rock, please sign up on signupgenius. The link is below.

The World's Finest Chocolate Bar Fundraiser is officially starting on tomorrow.   Bring your signed permission slips to the office and win your very own Blow Pop.  One of the Blow Pops will be marked to win a 5lb Chocolate Bar.  If you turned in your permission slip last week, stop by the office to get your box and pick your Blow Pop.  Bars are now $2, which makes the whole box $80.  Anybody that returns money for a box of chocolate by Friday, Feb 13th will receive double credit up to 4 boxes total.  Thank you for supporting our school fundraiser!   All money should be turned in by Feb 24

Parent and Guardians: During school events, please be reminded that parking is limited to designated school parking areas only. The church property next door is not available for event parking, and families should avoid using that space. We appreciate your cooperation in helping us maintain positive community partnerships and ensure safe, appropriate parking for all events. Thank you for your understanding and support.

Also any Math 1 students who need additional help, tutoring will be available on Wednesdays from 2:45-3:30. Transportation is not provided. Students need to communicate with Mrs. Terry if they plan to stay.

Our PTA is hosting our Valentines Glow Party on Feb 13th from 6-8pm. Admission will be $1.00. It is for students of all ages. Concessions and glow items will be sold as well.

"Does your child have a hidden talent they're ready to share with the world? The Grifton School Music Department is hosting a talent show on March 12th showcasing talented students in grades fourth through eighth. All talents and performing acts are welcome. Auditions will be held after school in the auditorium on February 23rd. Please see Ms. Mourino or Mr. Pagona for any questions."

Our Bulldogs Helping Bulldogs Pantry is up and running.  We invite families to come out between the times of 3:30-5:00 to get items, starting the first Wednesday of each month. Our first time will be this Wednesday,  Feb 11th.  This will be housed in the 700 building.

The week of Feb 16 is Random Acts of Kindness Week.

Feb 16-Elementary Battle of the Books Competition

Feb 17 is our Science Check in for students in grades 5 and 8, and our science DCA for all other students.

Feb 20-First Grade field trip
