Grifton School Updates and Reminders for the week of October 5th, 2026:
Greetings, Bulldog Families!
Just a reminder that attendance is important. Every school day matters, and regular attendance helps your child stay connected, learning, and on track for success. Please make every effort to have your child at school on time each day, ready to learn and grow. We want you here-every day, every class, every opportunity!
Our Curriculum Night is scheduled for Oct. 8 from 5:30-6:30. We will have our first Parent and Community Listening session at 5:00 pm in the media center. Come and learn about all the great things happening at Grifton School. There will be 2 sessions for the curriculum night. One from 5:30-6 and the other from 6-:630. This will give you time to meet with teachers to discuss their curriculum and get some ideas on how to help your student at home. Light refreshments will be served.
Oct. 12th will be teacher workday and parent-student conference night. Be on the lookout for more information.
Oct. 16 will be our middle school hangout after school from 2:45-4:00. To attend, students can not have any referrals. It will be an afternoon of fun, games, and snacks. Permission slips and information will be coming home.
Parents, we need your help! Please remind your child that NeeDohs, squishies, and similar fidget toys should remain at home. We have had several toys being popped or opened in class, which creates a mess and takes away from valuable learning time. We want our classrooms to stay clean, safe, and focused on learning. Thank you for helping us reinforce this expectation at home!
In Athletic News, we have a home volleyball game this week on Monday. The game starts at 4 pm. Please come out and support our Bulldogs.
Our PTA will be selling Candy boo grams for our middle school students. Grams will be $1.00 and will be sold during lunch. Sales will take place on Oct 15 and Oct 22, and grams will be delivered on Oct 30th.
On Oct 30th, students are welcome to come to school dressed in their favorite costumes! Please ensure that costumes are appropriate for a school setting-nothing too scary, and no weapons or violent imagery. We will do a school-wide trick-or-treat event at school for students in grades PreK-2, where they will visit teachers ' classrooms door to door of teachers classrooms for candy. If you would like to donate candy to this event, please do so. Also, if you wish that your child does not participate in this activity, please reach out to the school.
Our first nine weeks awards ceremony will be on Nov 6th for students in grades K-5. The ceremony will start at 8:30. Information regarding awards will be sent home soon.
Our PTA will be hosting Pizza Bingo is scheduled for Nov 13 from 6-8 pm in the cafeteria. More information is coming soon.
